Exploring the island with guides Kura and Jacopo offers a personable and memorable adventure with a unique insight into the natural environments of Rarotonga that can only be experienced with locals. Well-known by the locals as a talented guitarist and singer/songwriter, Kura Happ—owner and tour guide is an eco-warrior with a very deep passion for caring for the moana (sea) and enua (land). Her partner Jacopo compliments this with his wealth of island knowledge, energy and a passion for the inland jungles and mountains of the Cook Islands. Originally from Milan, Italy, he has settled comfortably and now calls the southern shores of Rarotonga, home. Together with their canine companions, Kura and Jacopo will take you on spectacular adventures and give you a true Cook Islands experience.
Reef Explorer Tour
An intimate experience that will bring you closer in appreciation for nature and the marine environment as learn about its importance to our people and island paradise. You will encounter sea creatures such as sea cucumbers, crabs, starfish, snails, moray eels, sea urchins, octopus, and also learn about one of the most important living creatures in our waters, the coral and reef. Your walk takes you to the edge of Avaavaroa passage where, if you’re lucky, you may spot green turtles and eagle rays.
Inland Discoveries Walk
A personable and memorable adventure that takes you into the lush interior of Rarotonga, across streams and riverbeds, through private fruit and vegetable plantations, and up to the ridgeline lookout for breath-taking views of the Southern coast of the island and Rua Manga “The Needle”. You will also have the opportunity to see a variety of Cook Islands birds such as the Kakerori, I’oi, Rupe and the colorful Kukupa. Learn about rural life in Rarotonga and try in-season fruits like pawpaw, tamarind, passionfruit, jackfruit, mangosteen, rambutan, hibiscus and coconut at different stages (new, dry and sprouted!).

Reef Explorer Tour is tide dependant - operates at low-tide. Starting time is confirmed on island.
Tour operates: Monday to Sunday
Duration of tour is approximately 3 hours
Tour includes: Tour Guide, walking sticks, fresh nu & light refreshments
What to bring: Reef shoes, camera, sunscreen, sun hat. bottled water and change of clothing
Inland Discoveries Walk
Tour operates: Saturday & Sundays only
Operating times: 8am or 1pm start
Duration of tour is approximately 4 hours
Tour includes: Tour Guide, walking sticks, fresh nu & light refreshments
What to bring: Good walking/hiking shoes, camera, sunscreen, sun hat, bottled water and change of clothing
